Client: Oxford City Council
Project: Refurbishment of car park and associated works
Department: Highways & Engineering
Date of completion: September 2018
Budget: £140k
Client
Oxford City Council is the local district council serving the City of Oxford.
Requirement
The car park at Court Place Farm required updating and resurfacing works. The site was also liable to flooding and measures were needed to mitigate this.
Solution
ODS' Highways & Engineering team worked closely with suppliers and contractors to ensure that the project caused the minimum amount of disruption during construction. A hydro brake was installed to reduce the flow of storm water into the main, the car park was resurfaced using porous asphalt and street lighting was installed. Throughout the project 3,173m2 surfacing was used, 545 storm crates, 3 large silt traps and 8 lighting columns and ducting were installed.
Results
The end result is a fully resurfaced car park with improved drainage, lighting and electrical works. The project now provides improved, safe, secure parking for all users.
